The Courses at 621VGS

The VGS main task is to offer Gliding courses to its affiliated Squadrons and CCF Contingents. During any year there is a task set, by HQAC, for approximately the following:

To be able to fly these courses the VGS has to maintain sufficient qualified staff and have replacement staff under training. With these different types of flying there has to be priorities. The VGS first priority is Staff Training, secondly is the GS course then GIC and AGT.

The VGS is self-fulfilling organisation with the vast majority of its staff being former cadets.

The cadet courses will always be run in a professional manner. There are many orders and rules to be observed, sometimes frustrating but necessary to ensure the VGS's main aim, the duty of care for Cadets.
